Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that although his side’s next three matches are against relegation candidates, the team will not get complacent.

The Premier League champions are currently two points clear at the summit of the top flight with a game in hand against Blackburn on Monday night, but the Scot knows that the Red Devils will be in for a tough fixture.

“We know how quickly football can turn on you and bite you,” Ferguson confessed in a press conference, published on Sky Sports.

“You can look at all the fixtures and say all those teams are fighting for their lives. And they are the kind of games you know will be tight.

The game at Blackburn has always been a difficult match. It is a local derby and tends to be a bit feisty.

“Last season we were lucky enough to come back from a goal down to win the league.

“But it will be a very difficult game. That is the way it is going to be from now until the end of the season,” he concluded.
