Leeds United have been strongly linked with a move for Uruguay international Abel Hernandez since it became apparent that the striker would be leaving Hull City this summer.

Hernandez missed a chunk of last season with an Achilles problem, but he scored eight times in 10 Championship matches for Hull.

The Tigers failed to agree a new contract with the 27-year-old, however, and he is now available on a free transfer having left the KCOM Stadium at the end of June.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a huge fan of the striker, but his agent has revealed – in quotes carried by the Yorkshire Evening Post – that CSKA Moscow have made an approach.

The Russian giants are believed to have offered Hernandez a lucrative financial package as they look to bring him to Moscow ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

And the Leeds fans have been reacting to the news on social media.

Whilst many agree that Hernandez, who is valued at £6.3m by Transfermarkt, is a super player, it seems that the majority want their club to move on from a deal which now looks very difficult to complete.
