ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Tottenham chairman Levy has defended the club's decision to sack Europa League-winning manager Postecoglou and revealed he wasn't the sole orchestrator of the Greek-Australian's departure from north London. Postecoglou was given the boot despite ending Spurs' 17-year trophy drought and replaced by Brentford's Thomas Frank, who signed a contract until 2028.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Tottenham lost 22 Premier League games during the 2024-25 season and many thought the writing was on the wall for Postecoglou regardless of how his side fared in Europe. They lifted silverware in Bilbao and Postecoglou was given enough time to celebrate the achievement with his squad but eventually received the sack earlier this month.

WHAT LEVY SAID
In a video posted on Tottenham's YouTube channel, Levy said: "I've got an excellent relationship with [Postecoglou], I told him you're always going to be a part of our history, he and his family are always welcome back. It was a collective decision, it wasn't my decision, emotionally it was very difficult, but we believe we've made the right decision for the club."

DID YOU KNOW?
Levy was joined in the video by new CEO Vinai Venkatesham, whose appointment was confirmed back in April. The former Arsenal official will oversee a range of areas as Tottenham attempt to make sweeping changes to build for the future.
